Prepare for a full day of adventure, sightseeing and fun.
We are treated to a locally guided, deluxe tour of Summerside
and Charlottetown. We tour the Province House, churches,
Victorian homes, the Confederation Centre and more. After
lunch, we stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company
on our way to Anne of Green Gables Home and the sand dunes
at Cavendish Beach. The treat of the day comes as we enjoy
a traditional Lobster Dinner in New Glasgow, PEI. We return
to Summerside/Charlottetown for the night.
Enjoy a beautiful and scenic ferry ride this morning from
Woods Island, PEI to Caribou, NS. Our leisurely drive
east across the Strait of Canso brings us into Cape Breton,
the island of the heart and independent Scots, the original
European settlers of this historic island that is also
rich in French culture. Enjoy the most dramatic and scenic
views of the cliffs and moors as we travel to Baddeck,
NS for a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic
Site. Here is where Mr. Bell conceived and tested some
of his spectacular inventions. We spend the night in Baddeck,
NS.
We get started for our full day scenic adventure on Cabot
Trail, named after the famous explorer who first sighted
the island in 1497. Watch as we pass the meandering glens,
rugged coastlines, white gypsum bluffs and the always-pounding
surf. We make some photo stops enroute to make this a
very special day, indeed. Enjoy the most relaxing and
scenic adventure of the tour. We retire for the night
back in Sydney.
This morning we visit the historical Fortress of Louisbourg.
Watch history unfold during our sightseeing tour of the
famous 18th century Fortress. It is beautifully restored
with inhabitants dressed in period costume, and it stands
today as it was 200 years ago. We leave the fortress in
the early afternoon and travel back to the city of Halifax
for our last tour night stay.
All good things must come to an end! We take with us memories
of a wonderful Maritimes experience as we travel to the
airport for our return flight home. Complimentary airport
transfer voucher is included in your tour documents courtesy
of Pacific Gold Tours.
