Beluga Whale Departures ( July & August), after an included hearty breakfast, this morning is planned for Beluga Whale Watching. The Beluga Whales are known as the "sea canaries" due to their songs and chatter, which can even be heard above the water. Later on, we enjoy a half day excursion inside the massive tundra buggy tour.
Polar Bear Departures (October), after an included hearty breakfast, passengers enjoy the magnificent "Lord of the Arctic". We are picked up and transported by bus to the tundra buggy launch area. These massive vehicles have 8-wheel drive and will go anywhere. An all day excursion to view the polar bears, birds, etc, includes lunch. Our buggy is heated and equipped with a washroom onboard.
This morning after our hot breakfast, we visit the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre, where we watch videos in the theatre and visit a reconstruction of a Polar Bear Den. This afternoon we spend some time with Myrtle deMeulles. Myrtle is a Metis woman who tells stories of her life growing up on a trap line with her family in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan.
